Off The Wall, Onto A Stretcher

Today I stretched my new painting, Speaking The Language of Birds. Don Robinson at R. Michelson Galleries in Northampton had prepared the stretcher for me (it was shipped in pieces from California) and cleared a big framing table. It's definitely a two-person operation, handling such a large piece. You have to be careful not to fold or dent the canvas, and to line up the corners with the marks I had made on the painting.

Even though it's not quite finished, this painting will be on display on the main floor of the gallery starting sometime this week, and staying up until after New Year's. Then I'll (somehow) get it back to my studio and complete it. If you're in Northampton, stop by 132 Main Street and take a peek!
