Last year I spent a few days in a tiny house on a horse farm in Westport, Massachusetts while in the area for a family wedding. I grew up nearby, and I have always loved the stone walls that meander through this seaside community. At the farm was this beautiful stone wall with a rustic wooden gate. I photographed it without any idea how I would use it. A few months later, it became part of this painting, the third time I have incorprated stone walls into my compositions.
